PayAny Glossary
The words PayAny uses on screen, in the order you meet them.
- Balance
- What you hold in one currency inside your PayAny account. One line per currency.
- Available
- The part of a balance you can withdraw or exchange right now.
- On its way
- Money from a pending deposit or exchange that has not settled yet. It can be moved before it settles.
- Deposit
- Money coming into your balance: a bank transfer to your deposit account, or cash at an office.
- Deposit account
- A bank account in your name that PayAny sets up for receiving one currency.
- Deposit link
- A one-off public link that lets someone pay into your account without an account of their own.
- Share My Account
- A permanent public link that shows a payer your deposit account and takes their receipt.
- Proof
- The receipt or screenshot of a transfer, uploaded so the desk can match it.
- Withdrawal
- Money leaving your balance to a beneficiary’s bank account or as cash at an office.
- Beneficiary
- A saved recipient: a bank account, with the name as it appears at the bank.
- Whitelist delay
- The hours a newly-added beneficiary waits before it can receive funds. You set it, 0–24.
- Collector
- The person who collects a cash withdrawal at an office, named on the order.
- Voucher
- The QR code for a cash deposit or a cash collection. Staff scan it to open the order.
- Office
- A PayAny cash desk. Each has an address, local opening hours and the currencies it handles.
- Exchange
- Converting money you hold from one currency to another inside your account, at the rate PayAny quotes.
- Reference rate
- The rate shown to visitors who are not signed in. An account is quoted its own rate.
- Rail
- The settlement route a currency runs on. Where a currency has more than one, it is shown after the currency, for example XOF (Senegal).
- Fund password
- A separate 6-digit password asked for when you submit a withdrawal.
- Two-factor authentication
- A one-time code from an authenticator app or your mobile, asked for on top of your password.
- Anti-phishing code
- A word you choose that appears in every official PayAny email.
- In review
- A person is checking the order before it is paid.
- Order number
- The reference on every order. Quote it when you contact support.
- Statement
- A daily or monthly account statement with every order number, exportable.
